For the whole power grid system, including transformers and loads, it mainly shows inductive characteristics, while reactive power compensation devices show capacitive characteristics. If the resistance characteristics of the system are ignored, LC oscillation circuit is formed. Therefore, the LC oscillation circuit will be formed between the system and the capacitor at a specific harmonic frequency when the pure capacitor is used to compensate the system with harmonic background. The direct consequence of oscillation is the breakdown of compensating capacitors and devices, which affects the stability of the whole power supply system. Reactor design plays a lot of roles, and the fundamental role of series reactor in compensation circuit is to break the LC oscillation circuit and eliminate resonance completely. Because the inductance of the reactor increases with the increase of frequency and the capacitance of the capacitor decreases with the increase of frequency, when the fundamental frequency is 50/60Hz, the inductance of the series reactor is less than the capacitance of the capacitor, and the capacitance of the compensation circuit can be effectively compensated for reactive power. Under the background of harmonic frequency, the inductance of the designed reactor is larger than that of the capacitor, and the apparent inductance of the compensation system can be eliminated while eliminating the resonance.
 
Reactor Classification
 
Reactors can be divided into current limiting reactor, filter reactor and smoothing reactor according to their functions. Current limiting reactor is mainly used to suppress switching surge and current. Filtering reactor is mainly used to filter circuit and absorb harmonics. Smoothing reactor is mainly used to suppress the influence of intermediate frequency components on power grid and play a filtering role. All kinds of reactors have the function of restraining switching inrush current.
 
According to the difference of structure and cooling medium, it can be divided into hollow core, iron core, dry type and oil-immersed type. Low-voltage filter series reactor is generally designed as dry core, while high-voltage series reactor is mostly hollow core when used in large capacity compensation, and small capacity compensation is relatively high because of its high performance and price. - - General customers choose more iron core, of course, according to the principle of low-voltage filter series reactor. The working principle and production process of reactor can be divided into many types, such as phase-controlled reactance, balanced reactance, in-and-out line reactance, choke reactance, saturated Self-saturated reactance and so on.
