Xinhua news agency, Hamburg, Germany, September, 5 (reporter Ren Ke) German business people held a seminar on "one belt and one road" initiative held in Hamburg on 5 March.

 

The seminar was co-sponsored by the North Germany Branch of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Asia-Pacific Business Association of Germany. The participants included dozens of business people, representatives of chamber members and experts and scholars.

 

Du Xiaohui, Consul General of China in Hamburg, delivered a speech at the seminar, saying that the "one belt and one way" is an open platform, enhanced interconnection, opened up new space for global economic growth, and set up a new platform for international trade and investment. Through participation in the "one belt and one way", Hamburg, the entire city and its port industry, Central Europe and China Germany relations will all develop.

 

A report released by the Hamburg chamber of commerce at the symposium said that the "one belt and one way" opened up a huge market for Germany, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and China. Germany's infrastructure, logistics, trade and industry are facing tremendous opportunities for development. Hamburg should play an intermediary role in linking Europe and Asia.

 

Malte Heine, President of the North German regional branch of the German industrial and commercial conference, said that with the development of the "one belt and one road" construction, many German enterprises began to realize that this is a long-term development plan, which contains all kinds of opportunities. More and more German companies are thinking about how to participate.

 

Some business circles say that "one belt and one road" has promoted the cooperation between German and Chinese enterprises in the third party market. Jurgen Ackerman is a partner of an import and export company focusing on providing infrastructure equipment to enterprises in developing countries. He said that thanks to the "one belt and one way" construction, his company has the opportunity to participate in Kazakhstan infrastructure projects.
